Melissa Axelrod Design

My design studio was born out of a lifelong passion for art and design. With over nine years of design experience, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a variety of clients in the academic, non-profit and corporate sectors. My goal is to create beautiful and meaningful designs that reflect the essence of my clients’ values and identity.

“I strive for two things in design: simplicity and clarity. Great design is born of those two things.”

–Lindo Leader, graphic designer, creator of the FedEx logo

Process

Talk

I will respond to your email inquiry within 48 hours to set up a phone consult. During this time we will discuss your project, its scope, goals, and timing. From there I will create a proposal.

Plan

I’ll create a proposal that will include scope of work, overall costs as well as a contract. Upon receiving a signed contract I will create a project timeline for your approval.

Discover

During the Discovery phase I will write a creative brief which articulates your goals and target audience. From there I will do research to create a visual mood board. These two documents will set the tone for the project.

Design

Once I have sign-off on your Discovery Phase, I will begin the creative work of designing a graphic identity that will bring your vision to life!

Present

I will send you the presentation for you to look at and then we will hop on a call to discuss it. I will then ask you to send me your written comments.

Refine & Deliver

In this final stage I will refine the design to reflect our discussions, and then finalize the design applications. When edits are complete I will provide completed logo files and work with you to finalize all design applications.

“Melissa is a joy to work with and a true partner. She brings energy, creativity, and vibrancy to everything she does. If I were to describe her aesthetic in a single word: elegant.”
